Carp on the Fly June 2011 Grand Traverse Bay

Good day for JB and myself. Some big boys hooked and landed on the fly. "Golden Bones" 35 -40 inchers close to 25 pounds. It is like hooking up to Honda Civic.

Henry likes to visit the guys when we are in Craig.  In a few years we will all be headhunting for the big ones on the Missouri.

I love my new ball

We all went to Target to shop for a new iron. Henry could not get enough of playing with every ball he could find.  I bought him this orange ball and it became his new prize possession.  When I took this picture he was very tired and ready for a nap.

Spite Hill......time to go home

We had a great day on the water. The last leg of the float from Craig to Spite Hill was a bust.  We had hoped to really get into the evening caddis fall, however the wind shut us down. All in all no better way to send a day with your son....fishing the Missouri in July.

Putting them back

Steve has never killed a trout.  He got his early training fishing with the boys at Chimney Burn on the Manistee River near Grayling Michigan.  He learned the right way...this nice rainbow is too valuable to be caught just once!!
