Craig Montana "The Lodge and Joe's Bar"

Helping Grandpa pack

Hey Dad...this is fun!!

The kids came down from Helena for dinner. Henry had to check out Grandpas accommodations.

I can feed my self

Henry is learning to eat with a fork. He has become very independent.

I want real food!!

Three generations!!

This was a chance to get shot of all three guys. Looking forward to the day we can all get out in the drift boat.

I love my Mom

Hanging with Grandpa

Henry likes to visit the guys when we are in Craig.  In a few years we will all be headhunting for the big ones on the Missouri.

I can fish the Mo just like Dad

I want a Sage Rod too!

That is Steve's favorite rod.  Just like Dad's. Henry will get his chance sooner than later.

Future Falcon BGSU

We picked this up at the BGSU book store on our way back from Florida.  If University of Montana doesn't work out he has a back up plan.

I love my new ball

We all went to Target to shop for a new iron. Henry could not get enough of playing with every ball he could find.  I bought him this orange ball and it became his new prize possession.  When I took this picture he was very tired and ready for a nap.

I have fun with Dad!!

Spite Hill......time to go home

Putting them back

Steve has never killed a trout.  He got his early training fishing with the boys at Chimney Burn on the Manistee River near Grayling Michigan.  He learned the right way...this nice rainbow is too valuable to be caught just once!!

Big trout....long arms

This brown was actually pushing 21" long arms and all. Very strong fish; Steve did a nice job with the long handled boat net.

Steve hooking up

It did not take long.  Hooked up 5 minutes after we shoved off from the Wolf Creek FAS. This guy was going up upstream and to the bank.

Getting Ready for Montana

Time is short, we are heading off to Craig Mt. on Monday morning. The Missouri is rounding into shape after some of the most persistent high water in years. We have been busy getting our gear ready(new fly line) and tying up some last minute patterns see above.

More to come/I plan on keeping the journal up to date over the next two weeks.

The new line!! One less excuse!

Charlie and Jackie

Jackie, Jeri, Charlie

We spent Memorial Day weekend with my cousin Charlie Berger and his wife Jackie who were visiting from Ouray Colorado. They were quite interested in seeing the Sleeping Bear Dunes over in Glen Arbor. We took them on a grand tour of the Leelanau Peninsula, starting in Suttons Bay, hitting North Port, Leeland and ending up at the dunes in Glen Arbor.

Back in Montana

Just arrived in Missoula last night. Pretty hairy ride the last 35 minutes before touchdown. That plane was moving up and down, left and right and the wings were being stressed something fierce. The pilot received an applause when we finally touched down. Landing at Missoula can be stressful; this in not the first time we have been through this.

We took some video of grandson Henry today: have a look.
